Windows

For 64-bit Windows. The installer is the usual choice. The portable build runs from any folder without installing.

macOS

For Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). There is no Intel build, and one is not planned. The .dmg is the usual installer, and the .zip holds the same app.

Linux

For 64-bit x86 Linux. The AppImage runs on most distributions, the .deb is for Debian and Ubuntu, and the .tar.gz is a plain archive.

Steam Deck

Install the Linux AppImage in Desktop Mode. In Gaming Mode, XLibrary switches to its controller mode by itself. Deck shell mode is in Alpha.

Hold the power button and choose Switch to Desktop.

Checksums are in hex, as printed by shasum -a 512 on macOS and Linux and by Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA512 on Windows.

Every release is built on Windows, macOS and Linux CI and tested before it's published.

Windows says it protected your PC?

XLibrary is a new app, so Windows SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC” the first time you run it. Click “More info”, check that the file name matches the one you downloaded, then click “Run anyway”. You can compare the file's SHA-512 with the table above first.

macOS won't open XLibrary?

If macOS blocks XLibrary the first time you open it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose “Open Anyway” next to the XLibrary message. After that, XLibrary updates itself in place.

After installing

  1. Choose your games folder.
  2. Set up the browser extension.
  3. Coming from another manager? Import your library.
  4. Add your first game by its page link, or press “Add & install” on its page.

Requirements

  • Windows: 64-bit
  • macOS: a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer)
